Green light for second 'Go Ape'
A SECOND Go Ape attraction is to be created in Cumbria after planners did a surprise U-turn.
The Forest Commission has now got the green light to transform Whinlatter Forest Park, near Keswick, into an adventure course and 19km of mountain bike trails.
The turnaround came on Tuesday when members of a Lake District National Park Authority's development control committee reconsidered a planning application they had previously rejected on the grounds that it would caused traffic problems "beyond belief" for the neighbouring village of Braithwaite.
The change of mind came after members learned the commission - which hopes to raise much-needed cash from the scheme - was able to press ahead with its cycling trails with or without permission from planners.
