Parachutist's rescue - were you there?

A PARACHUTIST whose first jump ended in her being rescued from a tree by firefighters, has been back up in the air.

Natalie Gabriel, from Liverpool University, prompted the emergency call out on Sunday lunchtime, when she drifted off course and landed in the branches of a tree 60ft above ground near Cark Airfield at Flookburgh.

Police, ambulance and fire crews all raced to the scene but Ms Gabriel was so high up her rescue was delayed as firefighters waited for an areial ladder to arrive from Barrow-in-Furness.

Once they reached the thrill-seeker, they had to cut away at branches to get to her. She escaped unharmed.

Crowds gathered to watch the rescue - and to see Ms Gabriel return to the air for a second, more successful jump - and took pictures and film of the events.

Were you there? Did you photograph or film the rescue? If so, get in touch.

You can either telephone the newsdesk on 01539-710161 or text your pictures/videos to 80360, starting your message with the word KENEWS. Then leave a space and type in a short description of what you are sending, along with your contact details.
